Hello Junior and Senior Infants,
I hope you have been kept busy doing a little bit of school work, playing outdoors and helping around the house.
Below are some suggestions of work I would like you do over the next few days. Your parents/guardians will explain. Don’t worry, this is not compulsory!!!

v Make a calendar : Use a whiteboard, a blank white sheet of paper and stick it on the fridge. I want you to fill in

You can sing our Days of the Week song too –Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ,Thursday, Friday, Saturday, there are 7 days, there are 7 days there are 7 days in a week.
v Make a timetable of your day with parents/guardians ; Include time for school work , time for play, outdoors time etc.
v English: Junior Infants- Core Reader 1 : Read 2 pages each day .
Senior Infants- Continue to read your Core Reader. Reread your favourite story if you are finished the reader. This will help your fluency.
v Phonics: Junior Infants practice-ng (strong) V (van)
Senior Infants -Practice the sounds and write words with the ‘ng’ sound and ‘v’ sound. Let’s see how many you can write. Don’t forget to sound out all of the word!!
v Maths: Go on a Maths 2D shape hunt. Find things that look like a circle, square, triangle and rectangle around the house and draw them. Count and see how many you can find.
v Gaeilge: Practice saying hello and goodbye in Irish –Dia Dhuit (Hello) Slán leat (Goodbye)
v Geography

Draw a picture of the mammal .Senior Infants,-Write 2 facts about the mammal with your picture.

v Art: Draw a picture of Springtime for a grandparent/s or elderly neighbour or friend and perhaps send it to them in the post.

Click on ‘Listening and responding list, and listen to short excerpts from ‘excerpts from classical music’ to ‘Popular music’.
Ask your child questions e. g what was your favourite piece of music, why was this your favourite? Was the music played fast or slow?
