The attached, proposed work is just an indicator as to some of what your child would be doing at this time if they were in school. But we’re not in school and I completely understand if you’re not in a position to get this work done with your child. I am at home with my child and I too am finding it a challenge .........and I do this for a living!!
Many of you are trying to juggle work commitments alongside everything else that is going on. I am also deeply conscious that we have parents/guardians as frontline workers making huge daily sacrifices to ensure our safety, so please don’t let school work for 1st and 2nd class be an unnecessary, added burden.
Some children will be able to do all of it on their own and love the whole idea of it. For others they may need assistance with much of it and it’s their, (and your!), worst nightmare! It is my intention to correct all work completed by children when we return to school.
You, as parent/guardian and primary educator, decide what your child will do.
We, the teachers, have been asked to assign some form of school work at this time. It is more about occupying your child’s day, trying to maintain some degree of normality in a totally abnormal situation. Their overall education will not be hindered by this.
If you wish to contact me at any stage you may do so at [email protected]
Take care of yourselves and your families.
Please God life will return to some degree of normality sooner rather than later.
Looking forward to getting back into the classroom!
