Our first month in Junior Infants has been great. We were very busy!
The children had fun grouping the colours at Maths time. They were working on making their hands nice and strong at Fine motor skills time. We read the story 'The three little pigs' and we made their houses at Art time. They are fantastic!! They are getting lots of time to play at Aistear time. The theme for September was Homes and Families. The children made houses from blacks and Lego, they played in the kitchen, looked after babies and made lots of pretend cookies and treats from playdough. They looked yummy. Well done Junior Infants. Good morning girls and boys,
At last it's the day of the summer holidays. I know you are all so excited to be getting your holidays. I am so very very proud of you all for the way you have adapted to home school learning. Maybe some of you have already been but I know I would love to go there some day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJmZUGqbdfg Option 3 - This is for anyone who loves animals. Its a virtual tour of a farm sanctuary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xfGkgU9T2A You might also decide to visit a local park and bring a picnic with you which is perfect too. But please let me know on seesaw how your school tour goes and tell me your favourite thing about the tour. Enjoy! Ms Doyle Email - [email protected] Good morning everyone, I hope you all enjoyed Creative Day yesterday. Today's theme is STEM / Lego Day. I will give you a few ideas of what you can do however you may wish to do something else and that is perfect too. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Yeah I know that sounds very complicated but I will just give you a few science experiments you might like to try at home. Lesson 1 - Minibeasts - Below is a link to a powerpoint and information on the following minibeasts - butterfly, dragonfly, ladybird, snail, spider and worm. Lesson 2 - Science Experiment on paper towel colour mixing. Please find the link below. Water moves up the paper towel because the paper is absorbent, it sucks up water. The colour travels with the water making the paper change from white to red to blue.. Colours mix when they are joined together, red and blue make purple. See what colours can be made with just the primary colours. Lesson 3 - Easy Lego Ideas -
Lesson 4 -Lego Bridge Building Challenge - A fun Lego building Challenge. https://frugalfun4boys.com/lego-bridge-building-challenge/
