I hope you are all keeping well and keeping busy. I hope all the work has gone well so far. Some of you might have it finished already so I’m going to put up some other things that you can do.
Firstly each child in the class has been set up on www.nessy.com. This has games to help out with spellings and reading. To log in follow these simple steps: 1. Go to www.nessy.com 2. Log in using the secret word “wonkyteacher” 3. Enter child’s name 4. Enter child’s name again for ‘Nessy name’ 5. Click Nessy Reading and Spelling on the top left corner of the screen and off you go!
Secondly, in Master Your Maths, complete Friday Test 23 and test 24 (if you have all week finished)
And finally a challenge for you. Your task is to come up with two new games that can be played at home. One game you must be able to play on your own and the second has to be for two or more people (the more the better). Write down how to play the game, all the things you will need to play, what rules are in the game and how we can make the game easier or harder. Test out the games and email them to me at [email protected] before 3rd of April. Whatever games I get I will put them all together and put them on the school website for others to try out over the Easter break so make sure to try really hard on this one. For example: My game is for one player. You need a ball, a bucket and a cone/marker. Place the cone back two steps from the bucket. If you miss try again. If you get the ball in the bucket, move the cone back one more step from the bucket. Repeat and see how far back from the bucket you can get. Change the size of the ball or bucket to make it easier or harder.
I’ll update you with more work on Monday so keep an eye out for it.
Best of luck with the challenge, stay safe and hopefully I’ll see you all soon!
Mr McGrath
